Ulaanbaatar: Mongolian Mining Corporation sold 8,221.3 thousand tonnes (kt) of washed coking coal in 2025, reflecting a four per cent increase from 7,882.1 kt in 2024, as per an unaudited operational update for the quarter ended December 31, 2025.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the company stated that the sales volumes included 4,920.5 kt of washed hard coking coal, 452.5 kt of washed semi-soft coking coal, and 2,848.4 kt of washed mid-ash semi-hard coking coal. These categories comprised 59 per cent, six per cent, and 35 per cent of the total washed coking coal sales, respectively.
In the realm of coking coal operations, the group maintains its position as the largest producer and exporter of washed coking coal in Mongolia. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Energy Resources LLC (ER), operates the Ukhaa Khudag (UHG) mine, while the majority-owned Khangad Exploration LLC (KEX) operates the Baruun Naran (BN) mine, both situated in the Umnugobi province.
The group also holds a 50 per cent equity interest in Erdene Mongol LLC (EM), which owns and operates the Bayan Khundii (BKH) gold mine, and a 50.5 per cent equity interest in Universal Copper LLC (UCC), which is developing the White Hill (WTH) copper-silver-gold project, both located in Bayankhongor province.
Throughout the year ending December 31, 2025, EM sold 7,434 ounces of gold and 2,634 ounces of silver to the Bank of Mongolia and authorized commercial banks, following the completion of the first gold pour on September 14, 2025. The weighted average realized prices were US$4,153.25 per ounce for gold and US$53.14 per ounce for silver.
The BKH processing plant possesses a nameplate ore feed capacity of 650,000 tonnes per annum and incorporates crushing, grinding, cyanide leaching, carbon-in-pulp adsorption, pressure elution, electrowinning, and smelting to produce dor© (unrefined gold-silver) bars.
During the quarter, the group undertook drilling, bulk sampling, and metallurgical testing at the WTH project to support updated JORC resource and reserve statements and the completion of a feasibility study.
