Mohd Shazli Appointed as New CEO of Malaysian Football League

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has officially appointed Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective February 1. This appointment confirms the position he has held since March of last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Shazli has been part of the MFL since 2018, serving as the chief operating officer (COO). His extensive experience in the local football ecosystem includes holding several important positions, which have prepared him for his role as CEO. He initially took on the role of acting CEO on March 3 of the previous year, overseeing the smooth operation of competitions and secretariat affairs for the national professional league.

MFL president, Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan, expressed his hopes that Mohd Shazli's appointment would strengthen the governing body of the country's professional league, aligning with the strategic direction of the Malaysia League (M-League). In a statement, he commented on Mohd Shazli's experience and commitment, which have instilled confidence in the MFL Board of Directors regarding his leadership capabilities.

Mohd Shazli's background includes being a former Penang youth player and leading the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) Competition Unit from 2015 to 2018. He also led the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Competition Unit from 2013 to 2014 and was the head of the Football Unit of the National Football Development Programme (NFDP) of the National Sports Council (MSN) from 2010 to 2012. His involvement in the management of the national squad and FAM competitions dates back to between 2003 and 2006.
