Kuala Lumpur: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar today visited the Ar-Riqab community (those eligible to receive tithe) under the Ziarah Ar-Riqab Programme at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ar-Riqab Kuala Lumpur (Ar-Riqab KL).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Office of the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) stated that the programme aimed to strengthen the ties of kinship and provide assistance to the asnaf group and those in need. The statement highlighted Mohd Na’im’s speech, emphasizing that the programme is not just a welfare initiative but also a manifestation of the government’s social responsibility and concern for individual well-being.
“This effort is in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s aspiration for all government agencies to play an active role in helping those in need,” Mohd Na’im said. He further explained that the assistance provided goes beyond material support, including spiritual guidance and motivation, to help individuals build a better life.
Mohd Na’im encouraged all parties to collaborate in supporting the welfare of those in need, aligning with the values of love and kindness in Islam. He expressed his belief in every individual’s potential to change and create a brighter future.
The programme was organised by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), in collaboration with the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the Dang Wangi Police Headquarters, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
