Mohammed Taufiq Plans State Tours to Boost Youth and Sports Programs

Kedah: Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari will embark on a nationwide tour to evaluate and enhance grassroots youth and sports development programs. The initiative commenced with a visit to Kedah, where the minister gathered feedback from youth officers to pinpoint issues that require action at the ministerial level.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Mohammed Taufiq emphasized the importance of aligning federal government goals with state-level support to implement policies focused on sports empowerment and youth character building. During a visit to the District Youth and Sports Complex, he highlighted the significance of these interactions to shape policies that ensure effective implementation of federal initiatives across various states.

Dr Mohammed Taufiq also committed to reducing bureaucratic hurdles and expediting urgent requirements while adhering to established guidelines. Addressing a controversy regarding his use of the title 'Dr', he chose not to elaborate, stating that the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) had addressed the matter. His current focus remains on advancing the ministry's objectives and executing the government's agenda.

Recently appointed as the Youth and Sports Minister after a Cabinet reshuffle, Mohammed Taufiq also serves as the Sungai Petani PKR division chief and deputy head of Angkatan Muda Keadilan.
