Mohamad Sabu Leads Malaysian Delegation In Paying Final Respects To Khamenei

Tehran: Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu led the Malaysian government delegation in paying final respects to the late former Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, at the Grand Mosalla in Tehran.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad stated in a Facebook post that the mourning ceremonies would span several days. Starting in Tehran, the ceremonies are set to continue to Qom, Najaf, and Karbala, before the remains are transferred to the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad for burial on July 9.

Mohamad noted that the tribute and mourning ceremonies come more than 100 days after Khamenei was killed in an attack involving the United States and Israel on February 28. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to pay respects at the Grand Mosalla, where he was received by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

In his remarks, Mohamad prayed for divine mercy upon the deceased, seeking forgiveness for Khamenei's sins and a place among the righteous for him.
