Kuala lumpur: Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) deputy director-general (Food Security and Operations) Faisal Iswardi Ismail has been appointed its new director-general, effective August 1. His appointment letter was presented by Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu before today's post-Cabinet meeting.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu congratulated Faisal Iswardi on the appointment in a Facebook post. He emphasized the significant responsibilities that come with the role, highlighting FAMA's essential function in marketing local agricultural products, strengthening the food supply chain, and increasing the income of farmers and agri-food entrepreneurs.

The minister conveyed his best wishes to Faisal Iswardi as he takes on his new duties, hoping for ease and success in his endeavors.
