Kuala Lumpur: As Bernama marks its 58th anniversary today, the national news agency has been urged to continue excelling as a trusted news source. Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa shared the message on the social media platform X, in conjunction with the agency’s milestone celebration.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Fauzi expressed his wishes for Bernama’s continued excellence and integrity in delivering information. ‘Happy 58th Anniversary, Bernama. May Bernama continue to excel as a trusted news reference source by strengthening the delivery of information with integrity for the well-being of society, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI,’ he said.

Established in 1967 through a Parliamentary Act, Bernama commenced operations in 1968 with news wire services before expanding into photo services, later managing a radio station in 2007, television in 2008, and most recently digital media platforms.

Throughout its five decades of service, Bernama, through its news wires, television and radio channels, and digital platforms, has served based on its founding objectives to provide and disseminate news and information accurately, fairly, and impartially while safeguarding national interests.
