Kuala Lumpur: Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized that her ministry will not tolerate bullying and sexual harassment involving sports school athletes.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina made this statement while addressing reporters after inaugurating the 56th MOE-MSSM-MILO Sports Awards 2024. She highlighted the importance of vigilance and the need to protect sports school athletes, who are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education (MOE).
Fadhlina underscored the ministry’s zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and sexual harassment, noting that these issues extend beyond academic environments into sports schools. She assured that the ministry would conduct thorough investigations into any complaints, ensuring that the rights of students and complainants are fully upheld.
During the event, Fadhlina presented 13 awards, with the Selangor School Sports Council being named the MSSM Overall Champion. Johor and the Federal Territories were awarded second and third place, respectively. The MOE-MSSM-MILO Sports Awards honor young athletes who excel in sports while maintaining a strong commitment to academic success.
