MOE to Launch Book Voucher Program for Over 430,000 Teachers Nationwide

Kuala Lumpur: The Education Ministry (MOE) will soon finalise details and implement the book voucher initiative for all Education Service Officers (PPP) under its purview. In a statement today, the ministry expressed its gratitude for the initiative announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which is anticipated to benefit over 430,000 teachers nationwide.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MOE acknowledged the Prime Minister’s announcement during the closing ceremony of the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL) 2025. The initiative underscores his dedication to fostering a reading culture among the public, including educators.

In his remarks at the event, Prime Minister Anwar highlighted that extending the book voucher initiative to more than 400,000 teachers this year is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to cultivate reading habits among Malaysians, particularly school and university students. He emphasized the crucial role teachers play in imparting knowledge and encouraging a love for reading among their students.

The MOE stated that this initiative is in line with its continuous efforts to enhance reading habits across all educational levels and to promote lifelong learning among educators.
