Kuala lumpur: Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek has ordered the ministry's Integrity Unit to address a complaint from the family of Year Four pupil Nur Qaira Alisha Ahmad Ilwan, who recently passed away. The minister emphasized that actions must adhere to existing regulations and be grounded in justice for all involved parties.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kedah State Education Department (JPN) had already conducted an investigation into the complaint lodged by the family. The Ministry of Education (MOE) is committed to taking all matters related to student safety and welfare seriously. Their current focus is to provide the affected family with space and support during this difficult time.

Fadhlina, expressing her sympathies, conveyed her condolences to the family of Nur Qaira, wishing them strength and resilience in their time of grief. Media reports revealed that Nur Qaira had been suffering from a heart condition since infancy, which exempted her from school sports activities. Despite this, her parents claimed that a teacher instructed her to participate in a running event on April 15, despite the school's awareness of her medical condition.

Subsequently, Nur Qaira was hospitalized at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital on April 24 following severe symptoms, including vomiting and swelling around her eyes. She was diagnosed with heart failure due to decompensated dilated cardiomyopathy and sadly passed away at the hospital.
