MOE Initiates Educational Realignment for GISBH Children in Safe Houses

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced an initiative to realign the educational needs of children associated with GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH), who are currently residing in safe houses managed by the Department of Social Welfare (JKM). The realignment aims to ensure these children receive appropriate education aligned with their age and suitability.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized the importance of this realignment, noting that some children are still under the care of JKM’s safe houses. The ministry plans to integrate these children into mainstream education within MOE schools, tailoring their educational pathways to fit their individual needs. This initiative has been in place since October 1, as part of the ministry’s commitment to managing the educational development of GISBH children.

The Education Ministry’s approach underscores its dedication to providing equitable education opportunities for all children, including those in protective care. By assessing each child’s educational requirements, the MOE aims to facilitate a smoother transition into the mainstream education system, promoting their academic growth and social integration.
