Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Education (MOE) is continuously striving to meet the needs of every segment of students, including those undergoing treatment in hospitals, says Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. She stated that the MOE is collaborating with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to implement the School in Hospital (SDH) programme, ensuring that children receiving treatment do not fall behind in their studies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, there are currently 20 SDH programmes operating nationwide, benefiting more than 400,000 students since the initiative's inception. Fadhlina highlighted that the SDH programme has recently expanded to Seberang Jaya Hospital, marking the first implementation in Penang.
Fadhlina further mentioned that these continuous efforts are also reflected in the Malaysia Education Plan (RPM) 2026-2035, which emphasises inclusive education and equitable access. The SDH programme, which has been in place since 2011, continues to ensure that all students, regardless of their health conditions, have the opportunity to pursue their education.
