Taiping: A total of 330 Ministry of Education (MOE) staff, astride their high-powered motorcycles, participated in the “Rides Ziarah MOE Bikerz MADANI” programme here today. Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh highlighted that the programme is an annual community initiative aimed at invigorating the Thank You Teachers Mass Movement and Teacher’s Day Celebration.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the objectives of the MOE Bikerz MADANI programme, which is community-based, are to foster friendship among MOE bikers nationwide and to connect with teachers and retirees in the areas they visit. This evening, the bikers will visit the homes of six retired teachers who are ill, presenting contributions as a sign of appreciation for their services and welfare. This was announced at the Ziarah MADANI flag-off at the Taiping Vocational College.
Earlier in the day, the bikers, in collaboration with Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM), visited seven schools around Taiping. The purpose was to provide motivation and to explain the concept of Malaysia MADANI, ensuring it is appreciated by teachers and students.
Meanwhile, MOE Bikerz president Ismail Othman stated that the programme involves visiting ministry retirees and teachers who are facing health challenges, aiming to lift their spirits. The schools visited included Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan (SABK) Addiniah, Changkat Jering; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jelai Batu Kurau; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Kerian, and SABK Maahad Al-Tarbiah Al-Islamiah Changkat Jering.
