Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that March 18, 2026, will be an additional school holiday for all schools across the nation in celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ministry issued a statement indicating that the extra holiday aims to give teachers, students, and parents ample time to prepare for the festivities in an organized manner. This decision aligns with the 2026 Academic Calendar, which already provides schools in Group A states-Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu-with an extra holiday on March 19.

Furthermore, schools in Group B, which include Melaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and Putrajaya, have been allocated two additional holidays on March 19 and March 20. The ministry emphasized that this initiative supports its commitment to the welfare of the educational community.
