Moderate Earthquake Hits Seram, Indonesia

Seram: A moderate 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck Seram, Indonesia, at 7.50 am today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 36 kilometres. The epicenter was located approximately 82 km northeast of Ambon, Indonesia.

The department confirmed that the earthquake poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
