Moderate 5.7-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Mindanao, Philippines

Mindanao: A moderate 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck Mindanao in the Philippines at 5.23 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) confirmed the quake's epicentre was at coordinates 6.1 degrees North and 125.9 degrees East, 97 kilometres south-east of Digos City.

It was reported that the earthquake struck at a depth of 67 kilometres. Despite its magnitude, MetMalaysia assured that there was no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
