Kuala lumpur: Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz announced that the ministry has concluded its internal investigation concerning claims that MITI used a private company’s design work for the Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka without acknowledgment or payment.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ministry is actively engaging in discussions with the concerned company to resolve the matter amicably. The goal is to ensure that Malaysia’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka remains unaffected, maintaining the progress achieved thus far and fulfilling all objectives set for the event. This was in response to Lim Lip Eng’s (PH-Kepong) inquiry in Dewan Rakyat regarding the investigation’s status and the measures the government intends to implement to prevent similar incidents in the future.
MITI, taking lessons from this issue, plans to enhance its internal guidelines, especially focusing on the selection process for implementing partners for significant projects that impact the country’s international image. Tengku Zafrul emphasized MITI’s commitment to executing programs and projects involving national interests with transparency, accountability, and integrity.
