Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) hosted 80 underprivileged children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim and Asnaf Teratak Ummi at a Ramadan event held here last night.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event aimed to spread joy and support underprivileged children during the holy month of Ramadan. It was attended by MITEC chief executive officer Mala Dorasamy and Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Qube) executive chairman Richard Teo.

In a statement, MITEC expressed that the initiative reflects its commitment to giving back to society. Each home received an RM1,000 donation, and the children were gifted with duit raya to enhance their celebrations.

The event included a special Iftar session, where the children enjoyed a feast, highlighting MITEC’s dedication to community engagement and social responsibility.

This initiative also aligns with Qube’s commitment to social responsibility and community empowerment, reinforcing MITEC’s role as both a world-class event venue and a platform for meaningful engagement, the statement noted.

Mala stated that Ramadan is a time for reflection, generosity, and community, and MITEC was honoured to welcome the children and provide them with a joyful experience.

Meanwhile, Teo highlighted that it was a privilege for Qube to host the children, noting that the team curated special activities to create a memorable Ramadan experience, allowing the children to enjoy the venue’s distinguished setting.
