Mid rajang: The Mid Rajang Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA) is intensifying its efforts to boost incomes, create economic opportunities, and alleviate poverty in central Sarawak, as announced by its chairman, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang. Aaron, who also serves as the National Unity Minister and Kanowit Member of Parliament, emphasized that MiRRDA will focus on projects yielding direct socioeconomic benefits to local communities.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aaron stated that every planned project must contribute positively to the community by enhancing economic opportunities and improving the quality of life for residents. This announcement followed the MiRRDA Steering Committee Meeting chaired by Aaron.

One of the key projects under discussion is the renovation and expansion of St Francis Xavier's Church in Kanowit. The proposed plans aim to triple the church's capacity, enhance its landscape and architecture, and increase parking facilities.

Aaron further highlighted that MiRRDA intends to bolster its Entrepreneur Scaling Programme. This initiative will focus on enhancing business management, digital skills, product development, and business expansion. Additionally, human capital development in agriculture and livestock farming is set to receive a boost, with targeted efforts to support oil palm smallholders and liberica coffee growers, alongside providing training in livestock management and animal husbandry.
