Kuala Lumpur: Several ministers and deputy ministers took to Facebook to extend their greetings in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, observed worldwide today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil emphasized that the day’s celebration honors the resilience, courage, and extraordinary contributions of women in everyone’s lives. He expressed hopes that women would continue to be blessed with the strength to pursue their dreams and move forward with confidence. He also extended personal gratitude to his mother and wife, acknowledging their priceless love and inspiration.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said highlighted that International Women’s Day serves as a reminder to recognize and celebrate the pivotal role of women worldwide. She stressed the importance of empowering women’s roles and rights to build a fairer and more balanced world. She conveyed her wishes for a Happy International Women’s Day 2025 under the theme ‘Wanita Beraspirasi Membina Legasi’.
Meanwhile, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang noted that this year’s theme is highly relevant in recognizing the role of women in national development. He acknowledged women as catalysts for change and drivers of progress, citing their historical contributions to nation-building across various sectors. He wished a Happy Women’s Day to all women in the country.
Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching and Deputy National Unity Minister Saraswathy Kandasami also extended their greetings. Teo called for collaborative efforts to create a fairer space for women, emphasizing the need for increased female representation in leadership and politics. She highlighted the current statistics of female MPs and women in the MADANI Government Cabinet as areas needing improvement to achieve true gender equality.
Saraswathy expressed hopes that International Women’s Day 2025 would inspire women to continue progressing with confidence, courage, and determination. She encouraged women to serve as sources of inspiration for future generations.
