KUALA LUMPUR: MIMOS Berhad will continue to spearhead innovation in sustainable energy to position Malaysia as a leader in green technology, the Dewan Rakyat was told today. Deputy Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal stated that the national research and development agency focuses on advancing solar panel technology, smart grid systems, and energy storage solutions to meet future energy needs.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Minister Mohammad Yusof emphasized that MIMOS would also enhance space technology to support the country’s growing space industry. He highlighted that priority is given to satellite technology, space-based communications, and earth observation systems to bolster the nation’s capabilities in the space sector.
Furthermore, Mohammad Yusof mentioned that the agency would lead research in computing, communication, and security by exploring quantum technologies. This includes the development of quantum computers and detection systems aimed at stren
gthening the nation’s data security and information systems.
He added that MIMOS remains committed to ensuring the development, adoption, and commercialisation of advanced, high-impact technologies to enhance economic competitiveness and societal progress.
