Midnight Sales Carnival Enlivens Melaka, Stimulates Tourism, Local Economy

Melaka: The Malaysia Midnight Sales Carnival organised in conjunction with the May edition of the Melaka Bila Larut Malam programme has successfully attracted visitors to the state, giving a significant boost to the tourism sector and local economy.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, organiser Jalakx Sdn Bhd announced that the event combines elements of shopping, entertainment, and cultural performances, having a positive impact on local residents as well as tourists from home and abroad.

The carnival has led to an increase in hotel accommodation and provided great benefits to various business sectors, including petty traders, entertainers, handicraft entrepreneurs, food and beverage premises owners, e-hailing drivers, and tour operators. It has also drawn response from domestic and international tourists, especially from Singapore and Indonesia, who took the opportunity to shop while on holiday.

The sales carnival features a Special Sale Moment from 10 pm to 12 midnight, where buyers who spend a minimum of RM250 have the opportunity to win prizes worth more than RM20,000.

Various side activities were held to enliven the event, including special appearances by rock singers Datuk Awie and Yasser Atak, lucky draws, art and cultural performances, colouring and drawing competitions, magic shows, traditional games, and interactive family activities.

Jalakx Sdn Bhd expressed their appreciation to all strategic partners, sponsors, and supporters who made the event a success. The Malaysia Midnight Sales Carnival is expected to return next year with a larger and more engaging event.
