Microfinancing to Reach RM6.6 Billion by 2027 for Small Business Support

Rabat:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that microfinancing will be increased to RM6.6 billion by 2027. This initiative is aimed at helping small business entrepreneurs increase their income.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, The government has allocated RM200 million for the Sejahtera MADANI grant, which will provide equipment and training to 40,000 recipients, focusing particularly on women. In addition, next year will see RM3 billion from the Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) Fund made available to support 360,000 entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, the funding for the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (TEKUN) will be raised to RM1.3 billion to aid the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs. Financing for the Indian community through TEKUN and AIM will also see an increase to RM150 million.

The National Savings Bank (BSN) is set to offer RM1.7 billion in micro-financing. Special allocations have been made to benefit youth, gig workers, vendors, and vulnerable groups, as stated during the tabling of the 2027 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat.
