Muscat: Flight MH8110, carrying 278 KT051 haj pilgrims, made a precautionary landing at Muscat International Airport in Oman today following a technical issue. Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) confirmed that the aircraft landed at 4.11 pm local time, ensuring the safety of all pilgrims on board.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the landing was executed as a standard safety measure to ensure that the pilgrims' journey proceeded smoothly and safely. KT051 had departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 2.06 pm on Monday and was initially scheduled to arrive in Jeddah on the same day.
TH stated that Malaysia Airlines, through its AMAL service, is currently conducting a thorough inspection of the aircraft before it resumes the flight. If necessary, TH assured that the pilgrims will be temporarily accommodated in hotels before they continue their journey to Jeddah.
In a statement, TH advised the public, particularly the families of the pilgrims, to remain calm as the situation is under control. The safety of all passengers remains the priority, and the authorities are committed to ensuring a safe continuation of the journey.
