Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in several states until 8 pm today. The advisory highlights potential disruptions and safety concerns due to adverse weather conditions affecting a wide region.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's statement, released at 4.30 pm, specifically forecasts severe weather conditions in Perlis, various districts of Kedah including Langkawi and Kubang Pasu, as well as in Penang, encompassing Seberang Perai Utara, Tengah, and Selatan. The warning extends further to parts of Perak, including Larut and Hulu Perak, and areas in Kelantan and Pahang such as Jeli and Tanah Tinggi Cameron.
Additionally, Selangor districts like Hulu Selangor, Negeri Sembilan with areas including Jelebu, and Mersing in Johor are under alert. In Sarawak, regions like Sri Aman and Sibu, among others, are expected to experience the inclement weather. Sabah's Interior and West Coast regions, including Tawau and Sandakan, are also on the list, along with the Federal Territory of Labuan.
Residents in these areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure personal safety and minimize potential damage.
