Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds expected to hit several areas across seven states until 7 pm today. The affected regions include parts of Perlis, Pahang, Kedah, Perak, Terengganu, Sabah, and Sarawak.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia stated in a recent announcement that the weather conditions are anticipated to persist throughout Perlis, while in Pahang, they are forecasted to impact Cameron Highlands. The warning also extends to Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, and Sik in Kedah. In Perak, the areas of concern are Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, and Kampar.
Terengganu is also expected to experience these adverse weather conditions, particularly in Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, and Kemaman. Meanwhile, in Sabah, the warning covers the West Coast, including Ranau and Kota Belud, as well as Sandakan, Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan. Kudat is also on alert. In Sarawak, the affected areas involve Mukah, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang.
Authorities advise residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of inclement weather.
