Dungun: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today issued an advisory for a tropical depression detected at latitude 4.8 north and longitude 106.8 east, about 377 kilometres northeast of Dungun, Terengganu.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia, in a statement, said that the storm was moving east-northeast at a speed of 15 kilometres per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 56 km/h. The department added that these conditions may generate strong winds and rough seas over the South China Sea.
