Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm and heavy rain warning affecting 11 states until 4 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the weather advisory, released at 2 pm, indicates the warning encompasses the entire states of Perlis, Kedah, and Penang, along with specific regions in Perak, including Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, and Batang Padang.
The advisory also forecasts similar weather conditions in several areas within Terengganu, namely Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman. In Pahang, the affected areas include Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin. Melaka is expected to experience thunderstorms and heavy rain, as are parts of Negeri Sembilan-Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol, and Tampin-and Johor, specifically Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru.
In East Malaysia, specific areas in Sarawak such as Miri (Telang Usan) and Limbang are under warning, while in Sabah, the affected regions include the interior areas-Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, and Nabawan-the west coast areas-Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud-as well as Tawau (Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan), and Kudat.
