Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting most states, including Selangor, the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, until 5 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the affected states include Perlis and several districts in Kedah such as Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Yan, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. Penang is also expected to experience similar weather conditions.
In Perak, areas such as Kerian, Larut, Matang, Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim are on alert. Pahang will likely see thunderstorms in districts like Cameron Highlands, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin. Negeri Sembilan's Jelebu and Seremban are also in the forecasted path of the storm.
Johor is anticipated to be affected, with areas including Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru potentially experiencing severe weather conditions. Meanwhile, in Terengganu, districts such as Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman are under the warning, as are Kelantan's Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh, and Kuala Krai.
In East Malaysia, MetMalaysia has highlighted Miri (Subis and Miri) and Limbang in Sarawak, with multiple areas in Sabah such as the interior regions (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, and Beaufort), the west coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud), as well as Tawau, Sandakan, and Kudat as areas to watch for deteriorating weather conditions.
