MetMalaysia Issues Advisory On Typhoon Mekkhala, No Threat To Malaysia

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an advisory on Typhoon Mekkhala, which was detected about 1,616 kilometres (km) northeast of Kudat, Sabah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's National Weather and Geophysics Operations Centre stated that the typhoon was located about 460 km northeast of Luzon, the Philippines. Observations at 5 pm today indicated that the typhoon is moving northwest at a speed of 10 km/h and might reach a maximum wind speed of up to 185 km/h.

The advisory emphasized that there is no significant impact expected on Malaysia.
