Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (Met Malaysia) today issued a Level 1 hot weather alert, categorizing it as a cautionary measure for 15 areas spread across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Met Malaysia identified the affected regions in Peninsular Malaysia as the entirety of Perlis and several districts in Kedah, including Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Pendang, Padang Terap, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, and Sik. Additionally, Hulu Perak in Perak, along with Machang and Pasir Mas in Kelantan, were also placed under the same alert.
The caution alert extends to Beaufort in Sabah and Kapit, Limbang, and Marudi in Sarawak. Met Malaysia stated that a Level 1 alert is triggered when the maximum daily temperature in an area consistently hits between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.
