Kuala lumpur: Mersing Polytechnic has received a high-impact equipment grant worth RM239,946 for teaching and learning in the fields of electrical and electronics (E and E) and cybersecurity. Johor Education and Information Committee Chairman Aznan Tamin announced the grant, which includes SIEMENS PLC Trainer equipment for the E and E sector and high-end computer and Cyber Range Cloud equipment. This initiative is part of the continuous efforts of the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) to empower the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme and produce skilled labour.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aznan Tamin emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen technical skills and produce high-quality human capital capable of meeting the demands of current industries, especially in high-impact sectors. He stated that with these facilities, students have the opportunity to get exposure to the latest technology that aligns with industrial needs. He congratulated Mersing Polytechnic for being one of the selected TVET institutions to receive this grant.
The equipment aid grant handover ceremony to the Centre for Cybersecurity and E and E Education and Training took place at Mersing Polytechnic. Aznan also expressed his hope that all the facilities provided would be fully utilized by students to cultivate a more highly skilled and competitive workforce in Johor, both nationally and internationally.
