Kuala lumpur: Menara Merdeka 118 has been officially renamed Menara Merdeka Maybank, marking Malayan Banking Bhd's (Maybank) presence at this landmark, which now serves as its headquarters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the bank announced that the new registered address of Maybank's headquarters will be Level 70, Menara Merdeka Maybank, Presint Merdeka 118, 50118 Kuala Lumpur. This change underscores the bank's strategic positioning in Kuala Lumpur's skyline.

In conjunction with the renaming, Maybank's former headquarters at Jalan Tun Perak, previously known as Menara Maybank, will assume the new name of Menara Tun Perak. This change will officially take effect from July 28, 2026, further solidifying Maybank's historical and ongoing influence in the region.

Maybank confirmed that its Kuala Lumpur Main Branch will continue to operate from Menara Tun Perak until further notice. The bank assured customers that there would be no impact on those maintaining accounts at this branch, and all banking services would proceed as usual, ensuring a seamless transition for its clientele.
