San francisco: Meltwater, a global provider of media, social, and consumer intelligence, has appointed Tres Thompson as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With more than 35 years of experience in accounting, finance, and operational leadership, Thompson brings extensive expertise from both privately held and publicly traded technology companies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Meltwater Chief Executive Officer John Box stated that Thompson’s extensive financial and operational expertise will be instrumental as the company continues to pursue sustainable global growth. Box highlighted Thompson’s proven track record with high-growth, global SaaS organizations as making him a valuable addition to the leadership team.
Meanwhile, Thompson expressed his enthusiasm for joining Meltwater at a dynamic moment in the company’s growth journey. He emphasized the tremendous opportunities to scale and drive operational excellence, given the company’s products, people, and history of profitable growth.
In his new role, Thompson will lead Meltwater’s global central operations and finance divisions, overseeing financial strategy, operations, and investor relations as the company strengthens its position in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered media and social intelligence.
Before joining Meltwater, Thompson served as CFO of HighRadius, a global software as a service (SaaS) company offering AI solutions for the office of the CFO. He previously held senior roles at Velsera, a health technology company, and Symplr, a SaaS platform serving the healthcare industry, where he also served as Chief Operating Officer.
Thompson has a strong background in leading high-growth, private equity-backed firms to successful exits, in addition to experience in mergers, acquisitions, and business integration.
