Melaka: The Melaka government has successfully resolved 606 State Land (PTK) applications over the past three years, with a notable milestone achieved today as 90 recipients in the Machap Jaya state constituency, part of the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency, received Notice 5A for land ownership.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh announced that the handover effectively addressed land ownership issues that have persisted for up to 30 years in the region. This achievement was made possible through the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme, which was designed to expedite the resolution of public issues. During the handover ceremony of PTK Approval Letters at Sekolah Kebangsaan Lesong Batu, the Chief Minister highlighted that the WRUR programme enabled them to resolve these matters within two weeks.
Out of the 606 approved PTKs, 322 were from the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency. The state government is offering a five per cent discount to Notice 5A recipients who complete their payment in full within three months from April 1. This offer stands without requiring any application for extension or appeal for a reduction in premium payments. The Chief Minister emphasized that resolving the land issue showcases the efficiency of the state administration in addressing long-standing problems, aligning with the Melaka Sayang Rakyat concept which prioritizes the welfare of the people.
In addition to the government's efforts, recipients have expressed their relief and gratitude. Diana Mamat, a 45-year-old recipient, shared that the approval of her PTK application ended her more than four-year wait to own land. She plans to build a comfortable house for her family. Another recipient, Mastura Hairudin, expressed her excitement as her long-held dream of farming on her own land is now within reach after nearly five years of waiting. She hopes her plan to farm will soon become a reality.
