MCMC To Conduct First 5G Readiness Assessment Survey For M’sian Industries.

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in collaboration with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), is set to conduct the inaugural 5G Readiness Assessment Survey for Malaysian industries. This initiative marks a significant step towards understanding and enhancing the adoption of 5G technologies across various sectors in Malaysia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the survey is scheduled to run until December 1, 2024, with the primary objective of analysing gaps in 5G adoption among companies in selected industries. The assessment will focus on evaluating companies’ preparedness for integrating 5G-based technologies, identifying obstacles to adoption, and gathering insights to drive further innovation and service quality improvements for providers.

MCMC, in a statement released today, emphasized the crucial role of widespread 5G services in supporting key industries, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), by fostering innovation, improving effic
iency, and enhancing competitiveness in an increasingly digital environment. The commission highlighted the essential nature of enterprise participation in aiding MCMC and MIDA’s efforts to expedite the deployment of 5G technology.
