MCMC Takes Preventive Steps To Block Zionist Propaganda

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has taken preventive measures to ensure Zionist propaganda does not penetrate the nation’s cyberspace, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. He stated that MCMC is actively monitoring the algorithms of social media platforms to block any false or misleading content that may be disseminated by the regime.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi said the government has also held engagement sessions with social media operators to convey Malaysia’s firm stance of not compromising on the matter. He emphasized that proactive and continuous engagement with these platforms sends a strong signal, and efforts to counter and block algorithms containing Zionist regime propaganda will persist. Malaysia, as a sovereign nation, asserts its right to state its position, and social media platforms have acknowledged the views expressed by the government.

Fahmi elaborated that the government’s firmness was also demonstrated through a series of meetings with TikTok regarding the appointment of a former Israel Defence Forces (IDF) trainer as a content manager in the United States. He expressed concerns that the presence of someone who trained the IDF does not send a positive message for the TikTok ecosystem.

In addition, Fahmi reminded all parties to remain vigilant against Zionist propaganda concerning the situation in Palestine and the Global Sumud Flotilla initiative. He cited instances where false claims about attacks by Israeli commandos on Global Sumud Flotilla ships went viral, despite such incidents not occurring.
