MCMC Conducting Survey On Use Of Postal Services In Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is conducting a Survey on the Use of Postal Services in Malaysia to obtain public feedback on the effectiveness of initiatives implemented to improve the quality of postal and courier services in the country. In a statement today, MCMC said that the survey, which will be conducted until May 23, is part of the initiative under the Strategic Policy Study on the Postal Sector to support proposed amendments to the Postal Services Act 2012 (APP 2012).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the implementation of the amendments to the APP 2012 aims to ensure that the postal and courier service network in Malaysia will continue to be a strategic touchpoint for the people through holistic and inclusive development and regulation. The amendment to the law can also protect and ensure the sustainability of local industry players who are currently facing challenges while meeting the increasing needs of consumers.

MCMC hopes that the findings from the
survey could assist the government in planning and developing relevant initiatives in postal services to help the local industry and meet the needs of the people in their daily lives, in the long term. At the same time, the postal and courier services sector, which is an important pillar in parcel delivery service activities, can ensure that the growth of the country’s e-commerce sector will continue to increase.

Members of the public who wish to provide feedback can do so by filling out the survey form via the link provided by MCMC.
