Shah alam: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in collaboration with the Selangor State Education Department (JPN), hosted the 2025 Selangor Safe Internet Campaign (KIS) Carnival today at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seksyen 9, Shah Alam.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the carnival is part of a broader campaign to educate young people on online safety and cultivate an ethical and responsible digital identity from an early age in primary schools. A total of 12 primary schools, comprising 240 students and 24 teachers from around Shah Alam, participated in the event.
In addition to SK Seksyen 9, the schools involved included SK Seksyen 6, SK Seksyen 7, SK Seksyen 13, SK Seksyen 17, SK Seksyen 18, SK Seksyen 19, SK Seksyen 20, SK Shah Alam, SK Kota Kemuning, SK Padang Jawa, and SK Bandar Anggerik. The carnival featured activities such as a choir performance by SK Seksyen 9, a Pledge Wall, an exhibition on the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI), and interactive sessions using the KIS Module for Levels 1 and 2.
MCMC also reiterated its commitment to expanding the KIS programme to more primary and secondary schools, as well as public higher education institutions (IPTA) across the country soon. “These initiatives are vital in building a safe, inclusive, and thriving digital ecosystem for future generations,” MCMC said.
