MCCD Appoints Julita Ilhani as Chairman Amid Reactivation

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Chamber of Company Directors (MCCD) has announced the appointment of Datuk Julita Ilhani Abdul Jabbar as its chairman, with her tenure beginning on November 11, 2025. This appointment follows the chamber’s official reactivation in October 2025.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MCCD has also named Amarution Nadaraja as the deputy chairman. The chamber highlighted that Julita will play a pivotal role in transforming MCCD into a progressive platform that connects directors, policymakers, and industry leaders. Her leadership is expected to strengthen governance, foster innovation, and accelerate the empowerment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to bolster Malaysia’s economic resilience.

MCCD emphasized Julita’s extensive experience as a seasoned legal and corporate professional. Her expertise spans governance, mediation, policy development, and board advisory, underpinned by a strong foundation in law and strategic leadership.

Recognizing the critical role of SMEs in inclusive growth, MCCD announced its plan to spearhead the establishment of the SME MADANI Action Council. This initiative will be a collaborative effort, uniting economic non-governmental organizations, industry leaders, academia, and corporate partners.

Julita noted that the SME-MAC will focus on enhancing SME competitiveness, driving digital transformation, and expanding participation in the green and social economy. The goal is to empower Malaysian enterprises to emerge as ‘Jaguh PMKS Serantau’ (Regional SME Champion), with a foundation in sustainability and innovation.
