Kuala lumpur: Maxis has expanded its Maxis Home Solar offerings with the introduction of an Outright Purchase option, providing Malaysian households with a new avenue to adopt renewable energy and manage electricity costs effectively.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the new option complements the subscription plan that was launched in 2025, targeting homeowners who wish to have full ownership of their solar systems in order to maximize long-term returns. Maxis has announced that customers opting for the Outright Purchase plan can expect to reduce their monthly electricity bills by up to 80 percent, with the potential to recover their initial investment within three to five years.
To facilitate this transition, Maxis is offering zero percent interest installment plans of up to 36 months through selected partner banks. Additionally, customers who sign up for the Outright Purchase option by May 31 will benefit from up to five years of complimentary maintenance, insurance, and solar performance monitoring. This includes protection against accidental damage to solar photovoltaic (PV) components like panels and inverters.
The expanded offering aligns with the government's Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP), which aims to encourage households to enhance energy self-sufficiency and mitigate the volatility of electricity prices. Maxis Green Solutions Sdn Bhd director Patrick Er emphasized that the offering was designed to provide customers with long-term assurance.
