Kuala lumpur: Maxis Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd (MBSB), has announced the issuance of two new series of Sukuk Murabahah, with a combined nominal value of RM1.0 billion. This issuance is part of its existing unrated Sukuk Murabahah programme.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Maxis detailed that MBSB released two RM500 million Sukuk Murabahah, featuring a tenure of seven years and 10 years, respectively. The funds raised will be allocated towards debt refinancing, capital expenditure, and general working capital needs.
The telecommunications provider elaborated that these new issuances are incorporated within the framework of the RM10.0 billion Unrated Sukuk Murabahah Programme, which MBSB set up on June 29, 2016.
