Max Verstappen Aims to End Winless Streak at Bahrain GP

Accra:Sepang Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen is optimistic about ending his winless streak this season after securing pole position for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Verstappen expressed that achieving his first pole position of the season was a significant milestone, especially given Red Bull's challenging start to the season and the difficulties he encountered in previous qualifying rounds.

Verstappen emphasized that his primary goal is to convert his pole position into a victory. "I'm happy with today and for sure I'm going to try to win tomorrow. I mean when you start first, uh, that's the target," he stated.

The 29-year-old Dutchman managed to secure pole with a time of 1 minute 35.130 seconds, positioning himself well to continue his success at the Sepang International Circuit, where he previously won the last Malaysian Grand Prix in 2017.

Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari will join Verstappen on the front row, having clocked a time of 135.428 seconds. Verstappen's teammate, Isack Hadjar, completed the session in third place with a time of 135.558 seconds.
