KUALA LUMPUR: Mavenir, the cloud-native network infrastructure provider, has won the Advancing Artificial Intelligence Global Telecoms (Glotel) Award for its Network Intelligence as a Service (NIaaS). Applying state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) to telco operations, Mavenir in a statement said its NIaaS elevates problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to improve the user experience.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mavenir’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cloud, AI and IMS Business Strategy, Brandon Larson, highlighted the importance of autonomous networks for the future of the telecom industry. He emphasized that communication service providers (CSPs) must swiftly integrate AI into their operations to stay competitive. Larson stated, “Mavenir’s NIaaS applies state-of-the-art AI in telecom operations to build the future of networks today, enabling CSPs to offer advanced services and improved user experience to their consumers at a lower cost and realise
enhanced operational efficiency.”
NIaaS is a crucial component of Mavenir’s solutions, supporting autonomous 5G networks by enhancing resource efficiency and reducing costs. As the complexity of network operations increases, the role of autonomous networks becomes vital. Mavenir’s solutions utilize leading open-source frameworks, including K8s/container cloud and GitOps-based cloud-native automation, optimized with advanced AI/ML algorithms to meet the specific needs of CSPs.
In commercial service, Mavenir’s NIaaS has significantly improved the problem-solving and decision-making capabilities of operational personnel. This advancement has led to heightened network operations productivity, better enforcement of service level agreements, improved end-user experiences, and more efficient use of network resources.
Furthermore, NIaaS offers a visualisation layer that presents the inferencing of ML model outputs in an accessible format. This feature is particularly beneficial for telco operations personnel witho
ut a data science background, as it simplifies the understanding of ML model outputs. Additionally, NIaaS employs generative AI models to create a digital twin of the operational network. This digital twin acts as a live test tool, allowing for the evaluation of optimization actions proposed by NIaaS before they are applied to the live network, effectively mitigating risks in closed-loop operations.
