Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2025, scheduled from April 18-20 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, is expected to draw over 210,000 visitors. MATTA president Nigel Wong announced that the 56th edition of this international fair is projected to generate more than RM270 million in sales.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wong stated that the fair will feature about 500 booths, emphasizing new domestic products. Eight state tourism organizations are set to participate in the event, highlighting the importance of promoting domestic tourism.
While domestic tourism will be a focal point, Wong mentioned that the MATTA Fair will also showcase products and services for outbound destinations. Participating countries will include Japan, Taiwan, India, China, and several South African nations.
In addition to the regular fair activities, MATTA will host an inaugural Business to Business (B2B) event, called MATTA Connect, on April 17, 2025. This event, held a day before the MATTA Fair at MITEC, aims to connect international sellers with local buyers, offering opportunities to explore new destinations and establish business partnerships.
