Massive Gas Pipeline Fire Erupts in Puchong

Puchong: The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has confirmed that a gas pipeline fire has occurred in Taman Puchong Perdana, Puchong, Selangor today. Selangor JBPM operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar stated that they received a distress call at 8.23 am and fire-fighting operations are currently underway.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Subang Jaya Member of Parliament Wong Chen, who shared images of the incident via his Facebook page, noted that the Subang Jaya City Council PANTAS team is also en route to assist the JBPM. He urged residents, especially those near the fire, to exercise caution and expressed hope for the safety and patience of those affected as firefighters work to control the blaze.

Meanwhile, a live stream from a TikTok user with the account Perodua PuchongJayaJeffry indicates that the fire is still active as of 9.37 am, more than an hour after it began. The user reported hearing loud explosions and witnessing flames rising, noting that the heat was palpable even from a considerable distance.

He further mentioned that JBPM personnel had arrived at the scene to conduct firefighting and rescue operations.
