MARA Chairman Confirms Expulsion of Four MRSM Students Over Bullying Incident

Kuala lumpur: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) Chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki confirmed that four out of six students from a MARA Science Junior College (MRSM) in Johor have been expelled for their involvement in a bullying case.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post, Asyraf Wajdi stated that the decision was made after the College Disciplinary Committee (JDM) convened a meeting. The remaining two students have been suspended from school pending confirmation from the police, who are investigating whether they also engaged in physical contact with the victim.

Asyraf Wajdi expressed his sentiments, noting, "Only God knows how I felt when 6 students were picked up by their respective parents this morning after the MRSM JDM convened and decided to expel them due to the bullying case."

He further mentioned that junior students alleged to have brought prohibited items into the school are also under investigation. He emphasized that no wrongdoing by the juniors could justify the bullying act undertaken by the seniors.

Asyraf Wajdi also conveyed his gratitude to the MARA Secondary Education Division and the College Disciplinary Committee for their prompt action by conducting an investigation and holding a meeting within 24 hours of his instructions.

On Sunday, police detained six 17-year-old male students to assist in investigations regarding a bullying case involving a 14-year-old male student at an MRSM in Muar last month.
