Man With Learning Disability Dies in Rembau House Fire

Rembau: A man with a learning disability lost his life when a fire engulfed his family’s semi-permanent house at Kampung Seberang Batu Hampar, Rembau, last night.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Assistant Fire Superintendent Muhamad Khairul Yahaya, the chief of the Rembau Fire and Rescue Station, reported that the department was alerted to the incident involving the 25-year-old victim at 10:57 pm.

The only occupants of the house at the time were the victim and his 59-year-old father. The father recounted being awoken by several small explosions and flames emanating from his son’s room. Although he managed to escape as the fire quickly spread, he sustained minor burns to his head.

The cause of the fire and the estimated damages remain under investigation. The victim’s remains have been handed over to the police for further procedures.
