Temerloh: A man with 44 previous crime and drug-related cases was arrested at the Jalan Tengku Ismail traffic light intersection in Temerloh following a scuffle with the police. Temerloh police chief ACP Mazlan Hassan reported that the 35-year-old suspect attempted to flee in an Isuzu four-wheel drive vehicle when approached by police personnel in front of a shop at Jalan Tengku Ismail at approximately 10:30 am.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the suspect sped off but eventually crashed on the roadside before coming to a halt at the traffic light intersection. A confrontation ensued between the police and the suspect, who subsequently tested positive for drugs and was taken into custody. Authorities confiscated various cable theft tools, including an iron hammer and a manhole cover opener, as well as a quantity of yaba pills from the vehicle.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect confessed to participating in communication cable theft incidents in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Pahang in February. The arrest sheds light on a series of thefts that have impacted these regions, underlining ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb such criminal activities.
