Man Missing While Foraging For ‘Etok’ Found Drowned

Pekan: A man reported missing while foraging for ‘etok’ (freshwater clams) with his family in Sungai Pahang near Kampung Bukit Kenau, Pekan was found drowned today. The discovery brings a tragic end to the search efforts that began last Friday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pekan police chief Supt Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin stated that the victim, Mohd Zainuren Abd Rashid, 45, was discovered by villagers at approximately 7.45 am. The villagers found his body about three kilometres from the location where he was initially reported missing.

Supt Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin noted that the victim’s body was still fully clothed when found. Following the discovery, the body was transported to Pekan Hospital for further examination and necessary procedures.
